Tracer Dilution Technique

Production Testing is a key measurement performed routinely on producing wells to evaluate well performance and provide key data for reservoir management. Historically performed via Portable Test Separators or Portable MPFM’s (Where no fixed test facility is available); These historical methods are subject to errors due to the metering techniques employed, and often expensive. Operationally they require a full bore rig up that takes extensive time and large support crews. ScanWell has developed an alternative, Real time Tracer dilution based measurement system that involves measuring in-situ gas rates via injection of a phase dependent tracer into the flow line, and measurement of the resulting concentration during the survey. This highly accurate method provides accurate direct measurement of flow rates including gas compositional analysis, with only 2 sample points required. It has a significantly lower operational footprint and significantly more efficient operation, allowing operators to obtain more production data across their assets, in a safer, more efficient and sustainable manner.
